4.2.3 vCenter server
In the Installation wizard for vCenter Server, you must:

Enter your license key.
■
Specify a new or existing database for vCenter Server.
■
Select the account with which you want vCenter to run.
■
Accept or configure the ports that vCenter will use for communications.
■
Select the amount of memory available for the vCenter inventory (depending on the number
of hosts or VMs).
5 Install the vSphere Web Client
You install the vSphere Web Client on the vCenter server.
Make sure that you have the vSphere 5.1 /vCenter Server installation files, as already described in
section 3.1.
1. In the directory where you placed the vCenter Server installation files, double-click auto-run.exe.

Select vSphere Web Client and click Install.
3. The installation wizard for vSphere Web Client runs automatically. You should:

Accept the license agreement.
■
Select where to install vSphere Web Client.
■
Accept or change the default port settings.
■
Enter the details needed to register the Web Client with vCenter Single Sign-on.

To check that the Web Client is working, on the Windows Start menu, select Programs >
VMware > VMware vSphere Web Client > vSphere Web Client and log in.
5.1 Start the Web Client from a browser
1. Go to the computer from which you want to access vCenter.
2. In the browser, enter: https://vcenter name:9443/vsphere-client/#
