14.3 Clear the alert from Enterprise Console
When you are sure that the affected guest VM is clean, clear the alert from Enterprise Console:
1. In Enterprise Console, in the computer list in the lower right part of the window, right-click
the security VM and select Resolve Alerts and Errors.
2.
In the Resolve Alerts and Errors dialog box, on the Alerts tab, select the alert and click
Acknowledge.
The alert is no longer displayed in Enterprise Console.
15 Upgrade security VMs
Sophos security VMs automatically get the latest software updates, threat data, and threat detection
engine from your Sophos network share.
However, when Sophos releases a major new version of the security VM, you must upgrade
manually. For instructions, see the Sophos Anti-Virus for VMware vShield upgrade guide.
16 Uninstall security VMs
To uninstall security VMs, you run the Sophos Anti-Virus installer again.
Notes:
You cannot uninstall a security VM by deleting it in vCenter.
You will need your administrator credentials for vCenter and vShield Manager. Remember to
enter them exactly as you would when you log in to vCenter or vShield.
1. In the same directory to which you extracted the installer, double-click ssvmtool.exe.
Tip: If you used default settings, the installer will be in the C:\SSVM_1_x_x directory, where
1.x.x is the version number.
2. A wizard guides you through uninstallation. You should:
Accept the license agreement and extract the installer files.
Select Remove existing security VMs.
Enter your vCenter address and credentials.
Enter your vShield Manager address and credentials.
Select the hosts from which you want to remove Sophos security VMs.
At the summary page, click Uninstall.
The installer uninstalls the security VMs.
